Running Shoe Underfoot Perception Study
Currently recruiting male runners to participate in a new running shoe study! The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the mechanical properties of running shoes and underfoot perception of those properties.
We are looking for heel-strikers aged 18-60 and who are injury-free and typically wear size M9.5-M10 running shoes.
Participants will try on shoes as they would in-store before doing a short 300-meter run on a flat surface at a self-selected pace, followed by a survey and rest period. Six different pairs of running shoes will be tested in one session, and 3-D foot scans will also be administered. Data collected will include basic anthropometric measurements (i.e. height and weight), measurements from the 3D foot scanner, and anonymous survey answers.
Testing should take approximately 1-1.5 hours and will take place at the Canadian Sport Institute Alberta located at COP/Winsport.
An initial screening survey will be administered via email to determine eligibility.
Participants will receive $50 cash after the testing session and the results of their 3-D foot scan.
